Chinese negotiators at the UN Paris climate talks are being accused of delaying the global climate agreement at the soon to end climate change convention in Paris. In the words of a developed nation negotiator "Chinese officials had tried to water down efforts to create a common system for the way countries report to the UN on their carbon dioxide emissions and climate change plans". Another developed nation negotiator also accused chinese negotiators of resisting a measure widely seen as crucial for a successful accord (a requirement for countries to update the pledges they have made to limit their emissions, preferably every five years from around 2020). Nevertheless China is supporting the UN requirements for countries to update the Five yearly pledges of limiting climate change emission but wants any carbon dioxide emission updating to be voluntary. China's stand on this has been causing confusing among delegates as it was really unexpected due to their (China) recent undaunted climate vows prior to Paris 2015 climate change convention. On the other hand COP 21 negiotators had expected the alleged delay from China to come from India delegates but this was however not the case as India delegates has been so supportive in the negotiations.
